Project highlights:

The largest acid mine drainage impoundment globally, with pH levels as low as 1.4, restored to pH 7;

Fluoride ion concentration in wastewater reached 490 ml/L – a concentration highly corrosive, capable of completely dissolving calcified bone tissue – reduced to 5 ml/L post-remediation;

Engineering implementation based on numerical modelling of spatio-temporal characteristics in large-scale mine pit water bodies and hydrodynamic chemical mixing.
